Six things I gained from a daily yoga practice

This wordpress article has inspired me today to make a commitment to my health, and my spiritual well-being by instituting a daily practice of yoga…

It is my preferred exercise as opposed to the other group exercise classes I participate in at the local Y, and always has made me feel as if the world just rolls right off my shoulders.  I just realized that I have spent this morning spastic and complaining, and have not shared one inch of gratitude.
I need a break… I need something just for me…  Something I can enjoy and mentally be at peace..

Thanks 20something and beyond, you are wise beyond your years…

When I first met yoga it was through a teacher at a local bar. It was in the middle of a tumultuous time of my 20something experience, though, who am I kidding, there are many more of those to come. We engaged in the typical “what do you do for work?” conversation and when he said he taught yoga I damn near scoffed. “You do what?!” He told me that I should try it (scoff again) and we left it at that. It’s safe to say that the only yoga I was interested in trying was lifting a glass of beer and putting it back down again. He was persistent, though. Every week he’d remind me that he was going to DJ a class on New Year’s Eve and that it’d be right up my alley; black lights, glow-in-the-dark body paint, and awesome music. How did he know?! After waffling…

Life Lesson Learned

I saw someone yesterday…

Someone that reminded me quite clearly that placing any human on a pedestal is an excellent recipe for disappointment.  I expected so much of them, and gave freely of myself at times in my life when I was the most vulnerable, and at moments had the most to lose.  I was normally the one to run away because life how could someone possibly love me through the madness…  This last time however, I came back wounded irrevocably and needed a steady hand, and yet again they offered this… Claiming things were not peaches and cream for them either, and there was a possibility for what I left behind just a few short months ago… So I gave… and waited…. and waited….  And eventually saw it for what it really was..  Nothing, yet another stupid mistake, another hurt, another disappointment… I cried, and moved on.

This lesson has made me more reserved, thankful, and contemplative when it comes to relationships, and my personal well being.  It taught me to have more respect for myself, and those who really do love me.

They asked why was I still so bitter?

I answered, I was hurting and didn’t even realize it.

My last hope of humanity in a human had slowly eeked away, to the realization that a human being is capable of anything good or bad.  Good people are subject to do bad things when it is convenient and claim good intentions because they are a “Good Person”…

Enough of the doldrums…

God sends lessons in all shapes and sizes, and Lord Thank you for this one.  Truly no one compares to God…Image NO ONE…

Guest List

Sooo…. I’m at the endless task of the wedding guest list. You can say that everything hinges on this all important decision process.  Lately it has become difficult due to my fiance’s large family size, and that etiquette thing of  “she invited me to hers and now I have to invite them to mine” is starting to create a growth issue in this all important list.  Currently I am using Weddingwire’s gust list to input and print report my numbers as well as addresses for the people currently on the to invite list….

Anyway wish me luck!!!

Below is a possible invitation that I am thinking printing from The Wedding Chicks free printable website

Cute huh!!

Wedding Takeover

I am officially obsessed with planning my wedding and money saving/home organization.  Nearly everything I read and/or do is from one of the two current obsessions.  This is my second marriage, but really the first that I am so completely excited about…

The colors: Malibu and Chocolate AKA Tiffany Blue and Brown

What’s for Dinner?

After a long day at work, all I want to know is what’s for dinner..  I think spaghetti may be the winner.

Boca Veggie Crumbles

Wheat spaghetti noodles (I use whetstone)

Ragu spaghetti sauce

sharp cheddar cheese

parmasean cheese.

Olive oil

  1. Boil noodles with a little bit of Olive oil
  2. Heat and brown the veggie crumble
  3. Mix in Ragu sauce (I use chunky vegetable, but you can use your preference)
  4. Drain noodle and put into casserole pan
  5. Put “meat” sauce on top
  6. Mix cheese and put on top.
  7. Place in oven for 15 minutes (preheated 350)

The result is a spaghetti casserole that everyone in my house loves, and I get the night to start organizing and doing homework.   Yay!!
